(More customer reviews)After only 8 months of use in which my laptop was mostly on a desk and only seldom suffered the friction of being pulled in and out of my bag, the "soft touch" surface of the Speck case is peeling like a bad sunburn. It looks ugly and it reduces the functionality for which I bought the case. It really was not worth buying. Apart from protecting the computer's own aluminum body from marring, and providing a little bit of extra shock protection, the Speck "soft touch" case does not at all live up to its description. It is not "soft" in terms of having any give or resilience. It is simply a somewhat rubbery coating, thinner than tissue paper, on a conventional hard plastic case. It gives just a bit more "grippy-ness" when you are handling the computer, and now even that property is being lost as the skin flakes and rubs away. It's a poor product and I am disappointed.
