(More customer reviews)I purchased this 8GB set as a replacement for the 4GB that came with my late 2009 model MacBook Pro 17" laptop. It works perfectly, and at $675, it is nearly 50% cheaper than the same memory upgrade that Apple sells on their website. As Corsair has a good reputation, and my own experience with their desktop RAM is good, I think that this approach is sound. Note that Corsair provides a limited lifetime warranty on the memory, so it's not as if you're without protection here.
